The invitation to pause is a blessing

It’s a reminder to our soul, our being, our self

That we need to slow down

That our hearts need a delve

 

It’s a day spent with our self

It’s a day spent with others

But mostly it’s a day spent promising

That despite life’s bothers

 

We need to reflect

The triumphs of the past year

The tribulations that made us stronger

And the memories we hold dear

 

The pause is not a luxury

It is not a good-to-have

It is a blessing given to us

For us to cherish and save
